Success   Principles  to  The  Secret   .
By Jack Canfield    (Notes from his seminar/book)

What smart and successful people do:
Writing down your goals increases memory up to 50%.
College students with a high GPA review their notes before sleep. They also sleep 8 hours.
This helps short term memory switch to long term. These high ranking students also type up their notes.

If it’s Meant to Be, It’s Up to Me
1.) Take 100% Responsibility for My Life: Never Complain unless unless I have a reference point of something better. Never complain about something I cannot change. (That would be like old people complaining about gravity.)
Give up complaining, blame and guilt. (“IF only the world would change… I would feel better.”)
I want a different Outcome, so I Change MY Responses!
What I DO have control over: my behavior, images and thoughts.

2.) Write Down 5 Successes and the Reasons they are so important to me.
Write the Next Step I can take to increase achievements. In the morning — write in a gratitude journal. 5 mins. Write all I am are grateful for.

Law of Attraction: I can only attract what I am currently generating. (vibrational match).
I have to be on the right ‘radio’ frequency for my music to play.

I vibrate similarly to my 5 closest friends. If I don’t think they are doing so hot, I can change friends.
When I grow and vibrate higher, old friends become uncomfortable. (They may fall away with or without a fight.)

Thoughts = the INNER NET: everything I think, I send out to others.
This is more powerful than sending out 3 million e-mails in one second!
People pick this up and respond.

(Victim word)     I can’t _____________________.   (seem to have X understand how I feel……)
(Choice/ truth)  I won’t _____________________.   (be like everyone else.)

How  To  Figure  Out  What  I  Want :

3.) Write down everything in my home that irritates me.  (Dirty carpet. Squeaky door…)
Do simple things to fix at least 4 of these problems a year. (Feng Shui. Fresh paint. Organize…)
The Result: I will be happier and more comfortable. No more settling for less than what I want.

4.) I WANT LIST: notice who I am envious of  – that’s what I want!
30 Things. 101 Goals I want to do/ be/ have before I die.
Read these goals every 3 weeks. It will be more likely that this will come into my life.

5.) Hour of Power: 20 mins reading. 20 mins meditating. 20 mins exercise.

6.) GOALS: Have 3 for each:
Finances. Health. Relationships. Careers. Skills. Qualities. Contributions.
1 thing to do daily that will make me Happier________. Healthier__________. Wealthier_________.

7.) Replace Negative with Positive:
We have 50,000 thoughts a day!
Instead of monitoring each thought, it’s easier to beware of how we FEEL. Then, choose a higher feeling.

8.) Great Qualities about myself:  10 strengths to 101 strengths.
(Enthusiastic. I follow directions /take charge. Persistent. Inspirational. Compassionate. Detail oriented)

9.) Criticism is like a golden nugget of advice!
How perceptive of you to notice X about me. Another quality of mine is X.  =)
Ask for feedback! How would you rate your relationship with me? The quality of my service? Scale 1-10.
What would it take to make it a 10?

10.) Cure My Phobias. Get to the bottom of what’s holding me back. (2 of 3 Americans have low self esteem.) (Look up The Sedona Method and hypnosis for rapid techniques.)

11.) Create Structural Tension between me and my goal.
(After test driving that new car, suddenly my old car doesn’t suit me anymore.)
(Imagine Paradise. Now where I am doesn’t seem so great.)

12.) Write your goals down on (32) cards. Visualize myself accomplishing each one for 30 seconds. Total: 15 min. exercise. New ideas will start coming to me as I do this.
Here’s  How  Others  Applied  The Law of Attraction :     visualizing + action = powerful results!!!
A.)  A high school had 84% drop-out rate. So a teacher took his students to follow around college students. The idea of going to college became more real. The drop-out rate decreased to 16% !
B.) A man saw a truck take scrap wood away from the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. He asked the driver to deliver this wood at his house for $500. The truck driver agreed. The man then turned around and sold pieces of the bridge for $14.95. as souvenirs. This man made tens of millions of dollars! Headlines read: Man Sells Brooklyn Bridge!  =)
C.) 5th Grade students visualized reading better. In 30 days, they were at the 7th Grade level.
D.) Someone made a vision board with his dream house. Then bought that same house!
E.) Olympic athletes practiced the National Anthem as they bowed their heads and imagined receiving gold metals. They won! Their score was 9.9. and they received their physical gold metals.
F.) Someone stared at their vision board twice a day. He got excited looking at his dream car. He went to the dealership, had them take a picture of him in this car, put the picture on his refrigerator and bought the car in 6 months.
G.) A business man, who makes $10-14 million a year, wakes up and blasts “Eye of the Tiger”, “Rocky” and other heroic music as he shouts his affirmations.
H.) Have a Cocktail Party where everyone comes as who they are 5 years from now. Dress the part. (Have books under your arm if you are going to publish books etc.)
I.) Jack Canfield did not have money for TV advertising. He visualized himself on TV for 30 days. He was then asked to be a guest on a show. This was $40 million in air time to promote his book!
J.) Jack wanted to sell a million copies of his book in one day but did not know how. He visualized this happening. A buyer for a publishing company then approached him and said she can help. She arranged for him to fly in each time zone east to west. Over a million copies sold in one day.

Be Clear with what I want.
Align with my purpose.
Persistence.
Build a Team of Support.
Constantly Learn New Things.
Stay Motivated with the Masters.
Learn more all the Time.
Respond to Feedback.
Take Action.
Visualize my Goals Frequently.
Preserve…. No matter what.

One Response to “Success Principles to the Secret Reviewed by Monica”

  1. Nice summary. Canfield doesn’t get into the actual psychology, but there’re real brain mechanics at work, not just the recycled quasi-religious pop psych that he presents. Your summary at the end can work wonders.
